Can I go on holidays and keep my homestay?

  • If you are going to be away from the Homestay for an extended period (more than 2 nights) and you wish to keep your room while you are away, you must advise the homestay family at least 2 weeks before leaving. You will need to pay 50% of the normal rental for the entire period of your holiday. This should be paid to the host before leaving.
  • If you are going to be away for only 1-2 nights, please give the host family at least 3 days' notice. You will still need to pay the full rental for these nights.
  • Please note that students under 18 years of age are only allowed to go on holiday, or stay out overnight, with their Guardian's written and signed approval. Your homestay host is required to contact and check with your Guardian if you are allowed to go and they also need to also know where you are going, who you will be with, and how to contact you. Remember, your safety is very important and your Homestay and your Guardian are working hard to help you and to protect you from any danger and dangerous people.
